Recently, I've started getting 503 errors from some Github actions that curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/k3d-io/k3d/main/install.sh. Github status says all green but that's evidently not true.

Maybe this is a rate limit? But then the code should be 429 not 503.

Same here - intermittent 503 failures in CI while some runs still pass. It looks like a transient Github Actions network degradation, even if the status page shows no incident.

Similiar issue - intermittent 503 failures in CI when trying to download assets from GitHub releases, e.g.:

Same here, I haven't been able to build my container images for the last 5 hours because of random 503s.
I'm authenticated so this shouldn't be a rate limit issue.

Same here with actions in https://github.com/ArtifexSoftware. Seemed to start sometime between 1230 and 1400 GMT today.

Intermittent HTTP Error 503: Service Unavailable when downloading from within and from outside of Github.

Now I am getting error 504

Our Pants tooling actions have been failing intermittently with 503s and 504s as well.

This was in our container build:

and this was invoking a 3rd party pantsbuild action:
