Derry man unable to find NHS dentist feels let down

North West Today

Available for 19 days

A Derry man who has spent months trying to get a dentist treat him as an NHS patient says he feels let down by the system. Joe Friel is a self-employed father-of-five and says he just cannot afford to pay for private dental work to fix his cracked front teeth. We hear from one local dentist who says that practices are having to make ā€˜heartbreaking’ decisions about NHS patients because the current fees do not cover the true cost of their care. CafĆ© chain Synge & Byrne has announced it's to close with up to 80 members of staff affected across Northern Ireland including staff at their Foyleside Shopping centre cafĆ©. Colin Neill from Hospitality Ulster tells us more about the pressures facing the hospitality industry. And, will it be a win for the traitor(s) or the faithful on the grand finale of The Traitors?
