The 2025 Steve Prescott MBE Super League Man of Steel Jake Connor has signed a new three-year contract with Leeds Rhinos.

Connor only joined Leeds from Huddersfield Giants 12 months ago on a two-year deal, but he had a huge impact in his first season at AMT Headingley.

The 31-year-old only missed two league games and contributed 181 points as the Rhinos finished the regular season in third, their best effort for eight years..

His consistent performances saw him pip Hull KR's Mikey Lewis and Jai Field of Wigan Warriors to be named Man of Steel.

But despite winning that award, Connor was overlooked by England head coach Shaun Wane for the three-match Test series with Australia.

Connor's talent was never in doubt during his years with Huddersfield and Hull FC before that, which was recognised by playing for England and Great Britain in 2018 and 2019.

His form dipped but he has thrived at Leeds in his half-back role under Australian head coach Brad Arthur.

"Being here has brought me back to my best," he told the club's website., external

"I'm enjoying it and you can see that on the field. We want to create something special and I want to be part of it. It's a lengthy deal and I want to repay the club for that. Hopefully, my best years are still to come."

For Arthur, having Connor commit his future to Leeds is a big statement as they look to build on last season's improvement.

"Jake's taken ownership of the team, he's embraced the style we want to play, and he's become a key voice in our group," Arthur said.

"He has consistently performed at the highest level for the Rhinos each week and securing his future is a big step for us as we build stability and a core that can grow together."
