Cornelius scores late winner as Copenhagen win at Villarreal

Andreas Cornelius scored a last-minute winner to boost Copenhagen's chances of Champions League progress - and leave Villarreal facing elimination.

The hosts sit third in La Liga, but have only picked up one point in six Champions League games.

Copenhagen led after just 71 seconds when Mohamed Elyounoussi smashed home from Marcos Lopez's cross.

Villarreal equalised soon after the break when Ilias Akhomach's cross found Santi Comesana, who bundled in.

Moments later Copenhagen had their lead back with half-time substitute Elias Achouri scoring with his first touch to finish from Yoram Zague's cross.

Tani Oluwaseyi poked a shot through defender Junnosuke Suzuki's legs and past the goalkeeper to level for the Spaniards.

But former Cardiff striker Cornelius pounced late on to send Copenhagen into the knockout phase play-off positions.
