Moray Council said the fake versions posed serious risks for children

Hundreds of fake Labubu dolls have been seized from shops across Moray as part of council efforts to clamp down on unsafe products.

The local authority said the counterfeit toys were poor quality copies of the popular dolls made by the company Pop Mart.

Council officers warned the fake versions posed serious risks for children because of small parts that easily detach, exposed stuffing or sharp internal components.

A spokesperson added that recent joint investigations, involving Trading Standards, Police Scotland and the Home Office Immigration Service, had also resulted in the seizure of illegal tobacco products.
