The family of a woman in her 80s who died after being hit by a car have paid tribute to her.

Sylvia Ann King was struck by the vehicle at around 12:00 GMT on Wednesday in Arlington Pike in Bibury, Gloucestershire.

In the tribute her family described Sylvia as a "much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many".

The driver of the car, a man also in his 80s, was taken Great Western Hospital in Swindon but is not believed to have sustained any serious injuries.

The family went on to say they "are truly devastated and request time to grieve in private at this awful time".

Gloucestershire Police has asked anyone who saw the incident or who may have dashcam footage of it to get in touch.
