Ryan: This is a must win game and set-pieces should be one of our better opportunities to have a go. Get the ball in the box! Looks like we're going down with a whimper.

Colin: Burnley seem afraid to try and score, two free kicks in the Sunderland half, and we don't even try and put it in the box.

Graham: Absolutely nothing about Burnley says Premier League. When they go down I can’t see them coming up again any time soon, especially with Parker in charge.

Jaidon Anthony takes a corner for Burnley, and then is caught offside when Kyle Walker plays the ball back out to him.

That's so sloppy, especially when you are chasing the game.

    Sunderland 2-0 Burnley

Burnley put a couple of dangerous balls across the face of goal, but the home side clear.

Nordi Mukiele collided with Burnley's Lyle Foster as Burnley built an attack, and is receiving treatment on his knee.

Every time Sunderland get the ball, they look so much sharper.

I think Martin Dubravka should get stronger hands on that. It pretty much goes through him. The goalkeeper should do better.

Habib Diarra makes a run and expects the ball to reach him, he gets into the opposition penalty area and that's why he has scored his goals.

    Habib Diarra (32 mins)

    That's me told!

Enzo Le Fee plays Nordi Mukiele down the right flank with an excellent ball, and he finds Habib Diarra at the penalty spot with a pin-point low cross.

The midfielder's first attempt is blocked, but he squeezes the rebound past Martin Dubravka, despite the Burnley keeper getting hands to it.

Diarra hadn't scored a Premier League goal before tonight, but now he is on a hat-trick!

    Sunderland 1-0 Burnley

Much like transfer deadline day, this hasn't exactly been thrill-a-minute.

Marcus Edwards looks lively up top for Burnley and is quick to pounce on the few loose balls that come his way, but the Clarets' attacks keep breaking down before they reach the Sunderland box.

The home side look fairly dangerous, but have certainly slackened of a bit in the last 10 minutes or so.

Brian Brobbey can't get a shot off so tees up Enzo Le Fee at the edge of the box, but his low strike is easily held by Martin Dubravka.

Marcus Edwards tuns his man before he is brought down by Nordi Mukiele.

It looks like the Sunderland man got the ball, but Burnley have a free-kick 30 yards out all the same.

Brian Brobbey shows his strength by holding up the ball brilliantly before turning Maxime Esteve, but the move comes to nothing.

Sunderland are certainly winning the duels in the Burnley half so far.

Chemsdine Talbi connects with a cross from the right, but his cushioned volley drifts wide of the far post.

Sunderland are looking likely to build on their lead.

    Sunderland 1-0 Burnley

Burnley make a right mess of playing out from the back and Habib Diarra pounces, but he is dispossessed as he lines up a shot from outside the box.

He's got a taste for goals now!

  14. Postpublished at 14 mins

Sunderland skipper Trai Hulme whips in a free-kick from the right flank and it's cleared to Nordi Mukiele at the edge of the penalty area, but his effort goes miles wide.

A well constructed goal. Habib Diarra gets that second chance of getting a strike in.

No chance for Martin Dubravka and it's the start that Sunderland wanted.

A slice of luck gives them the lead.

    Habib Diarra (9 mins)

    First chance, first goal!

Habib Diarra plays a slick one-two with Brian Brobbey to get away from his man and surge towards the box. He stutters before shooting, and his strike takes a deflection and wrong-foots Martin Dubravka.

That's Diarra's first Premier League goal for the Black Cats since arriving last summer.

It's the perfect start for Sunderland, but a nightmare for Burnley.
